Visitors - Welcome to McFarlin!

We are a private, academic library and are not open to the general public. However:

  • We're always ready to welcome prospective students!
  • Visitors are allowed one visit per year for research and evaluation purposes.
  • The Special Collections department is open to the public M-F 8-5. For more information on using Special Collections, please check their website or call 918-631-2496.
  • We are also a public government repository. For access to the freely available materials in Government Documents, please check the information at the Documents website or call 918-631-2871.

Visitors and other individuals who wish to use the library must sign in at the Library Service Desk. Individuals interested in additional use of the library may pick up a Library Associate Membership application there. Call 918-631-2871 for more information.

Access to Library Materials & Services

Visitors that wish to frequent the library may apply for our "fee for access" service that allows persons not affiliated with TU the opportunity to utilize the resources of McFarlin Library on an ongoing basis. Memberships must be renewed on a yearly basis to retain privileges.

Students at other universities pay a somewhat reduced rate. *Remember to bring your college ID with you.

Individual Access Only $120
Individual Access + Check Out $240 - May check out up to 10 books for 14 days.

Check Out Fines & Fees

 

Access/Check Out privileges do not include media checkout, interlibrary loan, computer lab resources or remote access to electronic databases. These services are restricted to current students, faculty and staff.

Computers, Printing, Scanning

The computer lab is limited to current students, but the library has several research computers downstairs. You can get a temporary login for the computers at the checkout desk near the library entrance. Library Associates are assigned usernames and passwords for the term of their membership. 

Information and Research Services

Please feel free to ask our staff any questions you might have. Research help is available downstairs in the research office.

Electronic Databases

Visitors are allowed to use any of the library's databases for free however, you must: 

  • Be on campus. (Remote-access is limited to current TU students, staff and faculty) 
  • Be connected to TU's internet.
  • Go through the library website.
